GALENA LODGE LUNCH MEET-UP – WED, JAN 31 – NOON TO 1:30

Join XC Ski & Snowshoe friends for a No Host Lunch at historic Galena Lodge on Wed.  Alpine skiers – consider taking a break and joining your friends at this treasured place.

Besides its world-famous snowshoe & XC trails, Galena has an interesting history.  It was a mining town in the 1890’s with a polulation of 800.  Check out their website for details.

Coordinate ride sharing for the 24 mile scenic drive from Sun Valley to Galena (about 30 minutes).  If you have time on a clear day, drive to Galena Summit and view the spectacular Sawtooth and White Cloud mountains.

If you decide to explore the Sawtooth valley on another day, check out historic Smiley Creek Lodge for lunch (on the way to Stanley).  There are wonderful XC & Snowshoe opportunities near Smiley Creek (i.e. Alturas Lake).
